The name Petite Abeille (pronounced {puh-teet a-bay} means, “Little Bee,” and is also the title of a children’s book, popular in the 1970’s in Belgium. This restaurant is artistically decorated with Tintin and other Belgian comic book characters to bring the culture of Belgium to life. The décor also conveys the warmth of a full-service, casual dining experience. From the murals on the walls to the savory aromas as you walk through their doors-- Petite Abeille offers an experience and menu that is truly a freshness you can see and taste. Owners of Petite Abeille say their commitment is for each guest to enjoy his or her entire experience – the atmosphere, the value and of course, the great food.

Company founder, Yves Jadot, had tested his entrepreneurial success on a restaurant concept of a different color when he first opened the doors of Petite Abeille Chelsea in March of 1996. Yves’ vision was to provide New Yorkers with the fine quality of traditional Belgian food at an affordable price, served up in a warm and friendly atmosphere. This was his chance to demonstrate his uncompromising passion for quality, food and people.
The idea worked well as Yves pioneered Belgian cuisine in the Meatpacking district of New York City. Since then, Yves and his brothers, David and Christophe, have expanded Petite Abeille. There are now 3 additional locations in Greenwich Village, Tribeca and Peter Cooper Village.

I have eaten at the restaurant which is quite good but their delivery service sucks, it took over an hour and a half to arrive and everything was ice cold, hard and unattractive. Will not order delivery from them again. Best go to the restaurant.

What a pleasant surprise that they are delivering to me! I've loved them for years, and they were impeccable in their food delivery.

I was really surprised of the quality of the food. I usually eat in at the restaurant and this time I did not have time to go in so I decided to get a delivery knowing that the quality of the food is usually lower. But petite Abeille do manage to serve my steak at the right temperature and crispy fries. I gave them 4 stars.
